Refund policy

1. Our Promise

At Marais Home, we curate beautiful, high-quality furnishings and décor, and we stand behind what we offer. If you’re not completely delighted with your purchase, we’re here to help.

 

2. Returns & Exchanges (Within 30 Days)

  • You may request a return or exchange for most items within 30 days of receiving your purchase.
  • A proof of purchase is required.

Exceptions – Non-Returnable & Non-Exchangeable Items

The following categories are final sale and not eligible for return or exchange:

  • Large furniture such as sideboards, dining tables, beds, sofas, cabinets, or any other items that exceed a weight of 30 lbs
  • Custom made pieces such as furniture or artwork
  • Mattresses
  • Hardwired lighting of any kind (wall sconces, pendants, chandeliers, etc.)
  • Bedding and towels
  • Vintage, one-of-a-kind, or antique pieces
  • Floor models or display items

 

3. Refund Processing

  • Approved returns will be refunded using your original payment method.
  • Refunds apply to the merchandise value only — shipping and handling fees are non-refundable, unless the item is defective or damaged upon arrival.
  • Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless there is a documented error or damage.
  • Taxes will be refunded in accordance with local and state laws.

 

4. Return Instructions

  • To initiate a return, please contact our Customer Care team at katie@shopmaraishome.com or 859-800-2481.

  • Returns must include the packing slip and original packaging.

5. Custom or Made-to-Order Items

  • Custom or special-order items — including upholstered furniture, commissioned artwork, and bespoke pieces — are non-returnable and cannot be cancelled once ordered.
  • Please review all specifications carefully before completing your purchase.

 

6. Damaged or Defective Items

  • Please inspect items immediately upon delivery.
  • If you discover damage or defects, do not accept the delivery or note the issue on the delivery receipt.
  • Contact our Customer Care team within 48 hours at katie@shopmaraishome.com with photos and order details.

 

7. Order Cancellations

  • In-stock items: Once an order is placed and processed, it cannot be cancelled or altered, as fulfillment begins immediately.
  • Custom orders: Cannot be cancelled at any stage.

 

8. Policy Scope

This policy applies to purchases made directly via shopmaraishome.com or at our Lexington showroom. It does not apply to items purchased through third-party retailers or marketplaces—please refer to the respective retailer’s return policy in those cases.
