Founded by designer Katie DesMarais, Marais Home is built on a simple idea

Great design begins with understanding each individual — their needs, values, and how they truly live.
Our showroom brings together a curated mix of made-to-order upholstery, collected pieces, and thoughtfully chosen home goods — all designed to make everyday spaces feel intentional, lived-in, and beautifully personal.

Meet Katie DesMarais

Katie studied Interior Design at the University of Kentucky, then spent more than a decade designing in New York City and Austin — working across residential, hospitality, higher education, and luxury development projects, always with an emphasis on thoughtful, detail-driven design.

That experience shaped her balanced sensibility: timeless yet current, refined yet approachable.

After years away, she returned to Lexington to open Marais Home — blending her professional eye with a love for comfortable, collected living. Today, Katie leads all design direction for the shop and client projects while raising two young children.

Located in Lexington’s Chevy Chase neighborhood, our showroom is designed to feel like home — layered with warmth, texture, and ease.
